Course Overview

Paper industry practitioners will deepen their knowledge of impact/nonimpact printing processes, inks used, and their main components. Course offers description of specific printing inks for processes such as non-impart printing, offset lithography, flexography, rotogravure, and screen printing. Chemistry and formulation of water based, solvent based, and energy curable inks, ink manufacturing, and quality control will be discussed, along with recycling and deinking of printed materials. Course is designed for paper and printing industry practitioners, engineers, and technicians.
