Course Overview
Paper industry practitioners will deepen their knowledge of impact/nonimpact printing processes, inks used, and their main components. Course offers description of specific printing inks for processes such as non-impart printing, offset lithography, flexography, rotogravure, and screen printing. Chemistry and formulation of water based, solvent based, and energy curable inks, ink manufacturing, and quality control will be discussed, along with recycling and deinking of printed materials. Course is designed for paper and printing industry practitioners, engineers, and technicians.

- Main components of inks and ink additives for particular printing process, such as offset lithography, flexography, rotogravure, screen printing, or non-impart printing.
- Ink formulation, and manufacturing.
- Recycling, and reformulation of press return inks for reusing them and remanufacturing them to new products.
- Detachment of inks from printed products. Deinkability of printing inks.
